The Panathenaic Stadium

It was quite un-exciting realy, just looks like a stadium for running, we could see it from the fence so didn't bother paying the entry fee. Maybe if we were more into sport we would have a better appreciation for the place.
Afterward we had jam sandwiches for lunch then walked around the botanical garden for a bit. We found quite an interesting old tree that due to growing around and on to the marble paving had taken on the appearance the blob. After that we walked around the market in Plaka before returning to the rocky outcrop on the west side of the acropolis to fly my kite.

Athletes statue, they always competed naked.
