we went to the kings palace at Gyeongbokgung 2 days back. it was burnt down in 1592 during the Japanese invasion, and started to be rebuilt in 1865 almost 300 years later. The king moved in during 1868. it was destroyed again during the Japanese colonial rule. I am not sure when it was started to be rebuilt again but is mostly done.
