Giant Buddha

Over near the airport there is a huge Buddha on top of a mountain. It was completed in 1989 and is made of many cast bronze pieces.
There is a cable car that goes from the MTR station up to the village then its a couple of hundred meters walk to the base of the steps. The ride in the cable car has fantastic views of the airport, bush, mountains and some small waterfalls. It was drizzily all day but didnt worry us at all.
The tree looks real apart from the leaves. In fact the trunk / roots are concrete.
